The QUAD® Seal Family

The original four-lobed QUAD-RING seal concept has grown into a family of multi-lobed configurations, designed to provide the optimum seal in a wide range of applications. Each of the cross-sections described here is engineered and custom-molded to meet the exacting requirements of a particular sealing application. They are not stocked as standard items.

Modified Quad Ring Seal (5.6K) Modified QUAD -RING® Seal
The difference between this new ring and the original is a deeper valley which produces a lower force deflection value. This allows an original equipment manufacturer to seal properly across a broader tolerance range. In the case of a plastic housing, the reduced load will produce less creep. Contact our design engineers for further information regarding your specific application.
Quad-O-Dyn Seal (6.2K) QUAD-O-DYN® Seal
QUAD-O-DYN seals offer outstanding performance in dynamic sealing applications, providing near-zero leakage even at pressures of 2000 PSI (138 Bar) or more. This six-lobed configuration, consisting of two primary and four backup sealing surfaces, can be used with standard o-ring grooves.
Quad-Bon Seal (5.6K) QUAD-BON® Seal
The QUAD-BON seal is very popular in applications with oversize grooves, or especially strong spiraling pressures, including as a retrofit for existing o-ring applications.
Quad-Kup Seal (6K) QUAD-KUP® Seal
The QUAD-KUP's combination lobed/cup configuration provides the lowest possible friction at pressures of up to 150 PSI (10.3 Bar), in either reciprocating or rotary applications. A QUAD-KUP seal can be designed with the lip on any of the four surfaces, top or bottom, on the I.D. or O.D. QUAD-KUP seals are recommended for high diametrical clearance applications, as well as those requiring low operating friction.
Quad-7 Seal (5.6K) QUAD®-7 Seal
This seven-lobed configuration is ideal for use in oil and gaseous applications at pressures in excess of 2500 PSI (172.4 Bar). Each lobe creates an additional barrier to the media.
H Seal (5.8K) H Seals
H Seals are ideal for intricate single or multiple groove configurations in static seal applications.
Quad Double-Bak-Bon Seal (6K) QUAD® DOUBLE-BAK-BON Seals
This seal design offers maximum resistance to both extrusion and spiraling. The larger cross-section makes it ideal for use in oversize groove widths.
Quad Double-Bak Seal (6K) QUAD® DOUBLE-BAK Seals
This variation on the QUADBAK seal is designed for high pressure reciprocating applications, providing an effective seal in either direction.
Quad-Bak Seal (5.5K) QUAD®-BAK Seals
This two-lobed design resists extrusion, eliminating the need, in most cases, for a backup washer.
Quad-O-Stat Seal (5.7K) QUAD®-O-STAT Seals
QUAD-O-STAT seals are designed specifically for static face sealing applications. Each of the six lobes serves as an individual seal, with the corner lobes functioning as backups to the central lobes. Should one lobe be destroyed, the remaining lobes continue to provide zero leakage sealing. QUAD-O-STAT seals can be installed in a standard o-ring groove.
